No state, no nation is insured against natural disasters.

Tahir Khudiyev states that he applied to the relevant state institutions on behalf of the "International Society of Disabled People" and "Alillar Dunyası" newspaper, which he headed 7 years ago, about the low-quality construction of new high-rise buildings:

- The construction of high-rise buildings is entrusted to incompetent non-professionals, in order to get more profit for their personal purposes, without taking into account the safety of the people, the buildings are built from cheap, low-quality construction materials, which do not meet modern standards, and are not resistant to earthquakes. In order to draw attention to these big problems, we made appeals to the Baku City Executive Authority, the State Urban Planning and Architecture Committee, the Baku City Architecture and Urban Planning General Department, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic, and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population 7 years ago. We applied because we saw this day in advance. We were given strange answers. Unfortunately, no action was taken and still is not being taken. Low-quality high-rise buildings continue to be built in close proximity to each other. Instead of building 10-12-story buildings with the recommendation of our honorable President, unfortunately, 19-20-story buildings continue to be built like mushrooms after the rain. At least from now on, an independent commission consisting of highly qualified and experienced cadres invited from foreign countries should be established in Azerbaijan to build high-quality, earthquake-resistant buildings that meet modern standards, with high-quality materials and no more than 10 floors.

A terrible earthquake, which caused many casualties in the brotherly state of Turkey, left people homeless, and plunged the whole world into grief, can happen anywhere, no state or nation is immune from natural disasters.
